Eyes/vision: Take 1 amla everyday. You can eat it boiled or like an amla candy or in the form of squash. It helps improve eyesight and brings clarity of vision.
Anti-ageing: Amla has got anti-oxidant properties. Therefore, taking one amla everyday or 1 teaspoon of clasically made chyawanprash whose main ingredient is amla is a good way to boost immunity and stay youthful. In ancient times, amla fruit was added to bathing water.
Hyperacidity: Take 1-2 amla fruits with sugar or take 20 ml of amla juice with equal amount of honey, every morning and evening. Else take 1-2 amla fruits, sprinkle a little rock salt and have it before meals. These methods relieve hyperacidity.
Grey hair: Prepare a decoction with equal quantity of amla, reetha and shikakai. Wash the hair with this decoction or make a paste with equal quantity of amla, reetha, shikakai, bhringraj and iron powder. Apply it on the hair and wash after 1-2 hours.
Respiratory health: Take 1 teaspoon of amla powder mixed with ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon powder and turmeric powder everyday with a glass of warm water.
Skin complexion: 1 teaspoon of amla powder mixed with 1/4th teaspoon of turmeric powder and 4-5 strands of saffron when consumed with a glass of warm water everyday helps improve skin complexion and gives a natural radiance.
Liver health: Taking 3-5 gm of amla powder with 1 teaspoonful of honey every morning on empty stomach is good for liver health or take about 15 ml of amla juice with 15 ml of aloe vera juice in half a glass of warm water every morning on empty stomach.
Burning urinary sensation: Take amla juice mixed with rock candy or take equal quantity of amla, honey and ghee . Take 1 teaspoon every morning.
Constipation: About 5-10 gms of amla powder or triphala powder (at the discretion of Ayurveda physician) when given at bedtime with a glass of warm water helps relieve constipation.
Anti-diabetic: Amla can be used as a supportive therapy in diabetes as it reduces blood sugar. So, 1 teaspoonful of powder made with the seeds of amla fruit is good against diabetes. Also, 1 tablespoon of amla juice mixed with bittter gourd juice when taken for a minimum duration of 2 months is seen to reduce the blood sugar levels in diabetics.
Note: Do not consume more than 4 amla in a day.
