Anti-diarrhoeal: In case of diarrhoea take one to two stewed apples with 1 teaspoon of ghee, a pinch of nutmeg and a pinch of cardamom. It helps bind stools and cure diarrhea.

Headache: In case of Vata type headaches or headaches due to cold, apply a paste of nutmeg on the forehead. Wash off with warm water when it dries.

Improve voice quality: Nutmeg is known to improve voice quality by clearing throat of excess sputum. So, a pinch of nutmeg or chewing  a small piece of nutmeg is good.

Sleep and anxiety: Boil a cup of milk. Add a pinch of dry ginger, a pinch of saffron and a pinch of nutmeg and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Drink this milk before going to bed. It helps calm down the nervous system and promotes good sleep.

Aphrodisiac: A glass of warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg and a pinch of saffron every night before going to bed is an excellent aphrodisiac.

Digestion: A pinch or two of nutmeg with honey after meals aids digestion and prevents gas formation. It kindles the digestive fire and also acts as an appetizer.

Joint pain: A few drops of nutmeg oil mixed with sesame oil when applied on the affected joints helps relieve the pain.
