Elaichi/Green Cardamom

Bad breath: Chew 1-2 cardamom pods to minimize bad breath. Be mindful to limit it to 4 per day.

Vomiting: Take 250-500 mg powder of cardamom seeds either with jaggery or honey or simply water three times a day.

Cough: Take ½ teaspoon cardamom powder with a teaspoon full of honey 3-4 times a day. Even chewing cardamom (not more than 3 per day) frequently is helpful in dry as well as productive cough.

Cold: Ginger- cinnamon – cardamom tea
ginger 2 parts |cinnamon 3 parts | cardamom just a pinch
Steep 1 teaspoon in a cup of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. When the tea has cooled down somewhat, add about 1⁄2 to 1 teaspoon of honey for taste.

Cardamom powder and sugar candy in the ratio of 3:1 and dose 1-2 gm 3 times a day is effective in cough, cold and dryness of the mouth.

Urinary system: Drinking water infused with cardamom or water boiled with cardamom relieves dysuria and urinary retention, as it acts as a diuretic.

Digestion: Cardamom is helpful to aid digestion and even helps to reduce ama. If someone eats banana more than their capacity, it leads to sluggish digestion. In that case cardamom helps to digest banana.
